Prior to activating a new client, TBS performs the following tests in order to establish a baseline for connectivity. These tests are also run if TBS receives a support call related to performance, so that the new results may be compared to the original baseline.

Latency Test

  • Go to Applications/Utilities and select Network Utility.
  • To run a Latency Test select Ping.
  • Run this test from any computer that will be accessing the system. If accessing the system from multiple offices, run this test from each office.
  • Enter 4.69.149.131 for the Network Address.
  • Print the results to PDF.

 

Route Determination

  • To run a Route Determination test select Traceroute.
  • Run this test from any computer that will be accessing the system. If accessing the system from multiple offices, run this test from each office.
  • Enter 4.69.149.131 for the Network Address.
  • Print the results to PDF.

 

Through-Put Test

  • Run this test from any computer that will be accessing the system. If accessing the system from multiple offices, run this test from each office.
  • Go to www.speedtest.net
  • Select Reston, VA on the map to begin the test.
  • Send us the results (screen shot).

 

Internet Service Provider Information

  • Send us the name of your Internet Provider and the marketed download and upload speeds.
  • Send all results to TBS for analysis.
