HOW-TO: Reinstalling the Deltek Vision Workstation Client

RESOLUTION:

Procedure to uninstall the client from the user's Windows profile.

For Windows XP, and Server 2003:

1.    Open C:\Documents and Settings\<PROFILE>\Local Settings\Apps\2.0
2.    Delete the contents of this directory.
 

For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Server 2008:

1.    Open C:\Users\<PROFILE>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0
2.    Delete the contents of this directory.


Note: If you have any other Smart Client applications deployed to the workstation under this user the application will be removed at the same time as Vision and need to be re-deployed.



If the profile directory cannot be found in the default location it may be necessary to use the command prompt to locate it. Follow these steps to determine the location of the profile.

1.    Select Start > Run > type CMD, and click Enter.
2.    In the command prompt window, type SET and press Enter.
3.    The parameter called USERPROFILE will indicate the folder for the logged-in user.
 

Procedure to re-install the Vision client.

1.    Launch the Vision URL (e.g. http://server/VisionClient/) in Internet Explorer.
2.    Click Run when the Application Run - Security Warning prompt opens.
