Customizable Visualizations and New User Experience Highlight Claritas Q1 Update.
Friday, March 31 – With its first quarterly update for 2017, TBS has upgraded Claritas technology to support a refreshed user interface and new dashboard visualizations.
“Our design vision for Claritas has always been to make project performance reports easier to use while leading the way with new technology,” says Claritas Product Director, Debra Stehly. “Today, we’re thrilled to make Claritas even more insightful with a new approachable interface that spans the entire product across every module.”
The enhanced Claritas user experience is more responsive for all screen sizes, focuses on improved readability, and features larger functional controls and more streamlined navigation options for those on touch-enabled devices in the field.
“Given the expansive nature of the new Claritas user experience, we’ll be hosting a series of introductory on-line demos for organizations new to Claritas, as well as dedicated orientation and training sessions for existing Claritas customers,” says Stehly.
New Dashboard and Visualizations
When launching Claritas, Project Managers and executives are now presented with a refreshed dashboard which features:

an app launcher for other TBS-hosted and TBS SaaS products, including Deltek, QuickBooks, SkyVault Project Collaboration and AutoMate A/P. Claritas, the best project reporting tool for Deltek GCS and Costpoint and for Stratosphere for QuickBooks, now features SCA rate allocations for UNPOSTED Project Labor.
Inspired by customer requests, the Claritas Aggregate Cost visualization compares real-time incurred expenses and labor to the baseline project budget, and the latest project forecast. The aggregate cost comparison is displayed as a line chart with monthly data points to show ongoing trends.
By clicking on the line chart, users jump directly into a contract or task “Single Project View” – an interactive job cost report that features real-time project expenses and labor (including unapproved and unposted timesheets).
Users may quickly view aggregate cost charts with a simple project search, and add multiple charts to their dashboard for easy access.
“Even more exciting is that by building visualization technology directly into Claritas we may now efficiently roll out additional dashboard charts and graphs quarter-by-quarter – based upon customer requests,” adds Stehly.
Streamlined Project Navigation
“The Project Manager experience in Claritas has always been user friendly, with built-in project security, configurable job cost reports, and embedded hyperlinks for labor and cost details,” says Stehly. “Now Claritas is even better for PMs.”
One-click navigation is now built directly into Claritas project “breadcrumb trails.” At all times, Project Managers may seamlessly navigate up to see all their assigned projects, or drill down to lower project levels. Additionally, PMs now quickly cycle through multiple project performance views with a simple menu list.
For every assigned project and task, PMs and executives see:
Costs – all current project expenses and labor (including “unposted” hours from unapproved timesheets)
Profitability – all current project costs plus a bottom-line revenue forecast
ETC / EAC – current project performance compared to the latest Estimate To Complete Budget, with Estimate At Complete totals
Weekly Timesheets – a configurable view of project labor hours by employee and subcontractor on a weekly calendar basis, NOT by timesheet period (users set the day on which their weekly view begins)
Fully Burdened Labor Detail – monthly project labor by employees and subs with each individually burdened with Fringe, Overhead and G&A rates
Labor – current and unposted project labor by employee or labor category
ODCs – current expenses charged directly to a project
ODC Detail – current project charges with transaction-level details
Trend – monthly project performance (labor, ODCs, rates and revenue) compared by period.
Touch-Friendly Function Icons
The Claritas Q1 update also features larger touch-friendly module icons for easier use on tablet and mobile devices. As always, users see only those modules they have express permission to access – Projects, Workforce, Financials, Budgets, Forecasts, Admin, Syncs, Help and Search.
