TBS CLOUD INTELLIGENCE: Product Feed

TBS Announces QuickBooks Cloud Hosting, Claritas Project Performance Management SaaS for QuickBooks.

Potomac Falls, VA – Technology & Business Solutions LLC is now providing Enterprise Cloud Hosting for Intuit’s QuickBooks Professional software, an accounting system utilized by over 20,000 mid-sized government contractors and organizations new to federal business.

Like all TBS hosted products, Intuit’s QuickBooks Pro is delivered as a platform from the TBS Enterprise Cloud, meaning all QuickBooks customers gain access to the latest software versions along with free and automatic software and year-end updates.

With TBS, QuickBooks Pro is available any time, any where, via a secure internet connection (all application and database data are encrypted at the 256-AES level and with SSL assurance). The TBS QuickBooks Cloud attests to SAS 70 Type II compliance standards, and is currently transitioning to the AICPA’s new audit regime established just this year, called SSAE16-SOC2. The TBS SSAE16-SOC2 environment for QuickBooks incorporates numerous regulatory controls, including DCAA, SOX, MA201 (personnel privacy), ITAR, CMS, DISA, and FISMA.

“We’re proud to be hosting QuickBooks Pro at TBS,” says TBS co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Jay Ethridge. “We’re always attuned to our customers’ needs. With so many organizations both large and small relying upon QuickBooks, we of course want to deliver for those folks too.”

When paired with Claritas, TBS’s contract performance and information management SaaS, QuickBooks Professional and Claritas for QuickBooks form a powerful, integrated solution for organizations focused on government contract accounting requirements and reporting.

Claritas provides project managers, financial managers and business leaders with an instant “forensic” look at contract and division P&L and other performance metrics. The Claritas My Projects module delivers real-time posted, unposted and unprocessed cost, budget, labor and fee project data. The My Financials module provides critical accounting department support with project and division-level P&L, interactive income statements, and a real-time dashboard that helps manage the monthly accounting process – period of performance progress, journal status, contract budget and fee notices, vendor and payrate alerts. With the new My Workforce module just released this quarter, Claritas offers additional insight with real-time labor utilization by employee and subcontracted resource, with budgeted hours and indirect labor analysis, and group-level views for department, division or OBS.

As a web-delivered self service tool Claritas is true SaaS, requiring no licensing and maintenance fees, and no implementation or consulting support. Claritas literally works right out of the box. Once an organization subscribes to Claritas, TBS Support schedules the organization’s Claritas kick-off in 48 hours. During that 45-minute kick-off session, Support sets up the organization’s Claritas users, and assigns security roles and each user’s contracts or projects. Then, Claritas is ready for use – integrating and syncing with QuickBooks Professional, and pushing important Project, Financial and Workforce information directly and securely to subscribers via the internet. Claritas for QuickBooks is slated for a general availability release in early 2012.

“One of the many powers of Claritas is that it extends the capabilities and ROI of core accounting software like QuickBooks Pro, not only for financial users, but project managers and business leaders too,” says TBS co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Joe Jezior. “At TBS, we have a Customer First approach, so if our customers find that QuickBooks is their best approach for govcon accounting, we want to help them with the very best Enterprise Cloud Hosting – access, flexibility, built-it back-ups and DR, unrivaled regulatory compliance – and products like Claritas and more.”
